    JOB SUMMARY
    HIRING SALARY RANGE:

    $81, $90,707.50

    SALARY RANGE:

    $81,535 - $118,225

    Under the direction of the Director of Community and Economic Development, the Economic Development Coordinator will focus on attracting new businesses and development, including redevelopment, revitalization and proposing creative solutions to development challenges.

    The position will serve as liaison to the Economic Development Committee. Experience with TIF Districts preferred.

    Assists in providing regular Economic Development updates to the Village Board, and recommendations for incentive programs such as the Faade Improvement Grant.

    Experience in marketing and social media along with graphic design a plus.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of zoning and urban planning, economic development, real estate, and political factors factoring into development projects.

    Familiarity and/or experience with commercial real estate sector including site selection; ability to assess the needs of potential tenants and available locations.

    Formulating & implementing business outreach programs for business retention & expansion.

    Building and maintaining strong, collaborative working relationships with business leaders, property owners, regional and local economic development partners, and stakeholders.


    Conducting needs assessments, documenting, and analyzing findings, developing and providing thoughtful analysis and effective follow-up. Delivering effective and clear verbal and written communications demonstrating the ability to interpret and communicate applicable regulations and policies.

    Leverage an optimistic and professional attitude; work collaboratively, build strong working relationships and provide exceptional customer service.

    Manage programs such as economic development marketing events, grand openings, brokers' tours, etc.

    Provide organizational support and assistance for events run by partner economic development organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce.

    Ability to maintain confidential information.

    Manage competing priorities and work effectively under time constraints and other pressures.

    Proactively focus on attracting business development and real estate investment including economic development projects, business attraction and expansion, redevelopment, revitalization, and reuse of vacant structures.

    Develop marketing programs, materials, graphics, and content.

    Attend trade shows and maintain materials for business and development recruitment.

    Maintain Village's databases for available properties and sites.

    Provide site information to potential businesses and developers for recruitment or expansion.

    Attends meetings making presentations, coordinating, and facilitating discussions, providing reliable information on economic development issues, prepare and present activity updates, and provides a positive and collaborative impression of the Village.


    Connects with existing and new businesses about Village procedures, plans, location opportunities, and other business resources.

    Assists with business retention and expansion strategies; assists businesses with business plan development.

    Assists in the development and administration of financial incentive programs; plans and implements various projects related to economic development.

    Analyzes economic data and prepares long-term business and financial forecasts and insights in coordination with the Director and the Village Planner.

    Collects and compiles relevant census and statistical information as well as maintenance of business lists, building and space-available inventories, market absorption dynamics, and similar information needed by prospective businesses.


    Assists with business and developer outreach and preparation of agendas and projects for the Economic Development Committee (EDC).


    QUALIFICATIONS
    Must possess and maintain in good standing, a valid driver's license.

    EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent business, marketing, economics, urban planning, or public administration, plus 4 years of experience in a local government, quasi-governmental or private sector setting, demonstrating experience and success in economic development or similar field.
