Position Description:

The Development Coordinator is responsible for overseeing database management including gift and donor data entry, and reporting.

This entry level position will also assist with donor and prospect research, events, digital platforms, and volunteer opportunities, as directed by the DOD/E.


Donor and Database:
40% of time

  • Utilize Donor Perfect (DP)support to efficiently ensure accuracy and timely reporting to meet the needs of department.
  • Process all gifts/donations and receipt acknowledgements including letters to funders.
  • Create and track acknowledgement letters in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for project management of all print collateral: appeals, invitations, direct mail, and other administrative responsibilities as assigned, while working with external vendors.
  • Create DP Online Forms for events and other fundraising initiatives.
  • Process matching gift requests.
  • Support the Grants & and External Affairs Manager with grants data entry and maintenance of grants related documents.

Fundraising 30% of time

  • Provide administrative support to development department; including but not limited, March Madness Virtual Event, Chicago Marathon, Ambassador Board Event.
  • Research and execute cause related marketing/third party events.
  • Help secure inkind donations.
  • Assist with funder prospect research.

Digital 10% of time

  • Participates in continued learning and enhancement of the donor database and other system tools.
  • Assist with social media content and inquiries.
  • Update and change website as directed.
  • Maintain and update Constant Contact mailing list.

Competencies:


  • Knowledge of cloudbased databases, reporting and queries, Donor Perfect is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Clear understanding of deadlines
  • Clear understanding of development goals and objectives
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and have strong critical thinking and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, with competing demands, while maintaining a
- commitment to excellence

  • Experience within Social Services/Nonprofit sector is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, associates preferred, and/or relevant experience.

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Ability to lift approximately 20lbs.
  • Follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) through administrative updates compliant with federal law.
  • COVID19 vaccination is mandatory for all employees. Accommodation requests will be considered in compliance with applicable laws.
