- Generates sales opportunities for existing retirement plans directly with employers through SWBC's targeted market approach, product knowledge, networking, and/or referrals to promote SWBC services which include, but are not limited to, fee benchmarking, investment advisory, fiduciary oversight, participant education, and vendor searches.
- Develops targeted markets, follow up with prospects, and report to SWBC leadership on a regular basis with business development progress.
- Utilizes sales tools for data aggregation and mining.
- Works with SWBC leadership to continuously hone and improve prospect outreach.
- Develops and implements referral campaigns with SWBC leadership.
- Develops relationships with centers of influence to develop additional referrals for new prospects.
- Participates in quarterly internal Investment Committee meetings.
- Maintains and responds to all ongoing compliance requirements.
- Ensures all required compliance documentation and the like are completed and maintained in accordance with SWBC, SEC, Federal, and state regulations.
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Communications, Marketing, Economics, Public Relations, or related field. If degree is not in a related field, retirement plan industry experience is critical.
- More than three (3) years' sales experience developing new business, or related experience, preferably in working with retirement plans (401(k), 403(b), 457, defined benefit, etc.)
- Ability to grow a book of retirement plan clients.
- Strong understanding of sales strategy formulation and reporting.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Possess a solid working knowledge all Microsoft Office applications.
- Self-starter, highly motivated, and be able to work independently while exercising sound judgment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of retirement plan (401(k), 403(b), 457, defined benefit, etc.) structures and terminology is preferred.
- Possess or obtain a Series 65 license.
- Able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time while performing sales, consultations, report generation, and the like.
- Able to stoop, kneel, and lift 10-20 lbs. of files, presentation equipment, or other office items.
