    Overview


    Oversees the Home Based Crisis Intervention social work team and assures compliance with all program requirements as determined by the Child Welfare Administration and VNS Home Care policy.

    Works under general supervision.

    Compensation:

    $63, $79,800.00 Annual


    • Provides clinical supervision of case planners under the guidance and direction of the Program Director including individual, group, family treatment and case management.
    • Provides one hour of individual supervision and review of each case record once a month.
    • Carries a caseload for psychosocial assessment and family-centered treatment through casework, family therapy and group work methods. Treatment modalities should include individual and group counseling.
    • Hires, trains, supervises, evaluates and, when necessary, terminates assigned staff.
    • Conducts intake and initial assessments of social service needs of families, as necessary.
    • Works collaboratively with caseworkers and other resources to develop and monitor preventive service plans for participating families.
    • Serves as liaison between Child Welfare Administration (CWA) field office and multi-disciplinary team.
    • Serves as primary therapist for a limited number of the most difficult cases requiring knowledgeable assistance. Acts as co-therapist for Parent Education group.
    • Carries out plans of care on a timely basis within established goals and policies of VNS Home Care. Assures that case records are current and meet all requirements set by the CWA.
    • Orients and instructs newly hired staff in relationship to psycho and social assessments, UCR's and treatment plans.
    • Maximizes quality and quantity of Social Work services by staff.
    • Participates in and may facilitate multi-disciplinary team conferences regarding the development of workable goals and plans of care for families.
    • Plans, implements and supervises on-site and off-site Family Support activities which promote the healthy emotional, social, intellectual and physical development of children with emotional disturbances and their families.
    • Coordinates learning and support components of the supportive services and monitors utilization of services, ensuring that program activities meet the needs of clients.
    • Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with local service providers, e.g., hospitals, schools, neighborhood health and clinics.
    • Assists and/or collaborates with Program Director in overall functioning of program including formulation of policies and procedures, preparation of policy and procedures manual and evaluation of program.
    • Acts as member of interdisciplinary team.
    • Understands and applies Social Work principles.
    • Performs all inherent duties in a supervisory role. Ensures effective staff training, interviews candidates for employment, evaluates staff performance and recommends hirings, promotions, salary actions, and terminations, as appropriate.
    • Participates in after hours on-call system.
    • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

    Education:

    Master's Degree In Social Work from a School of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or a closely related field from an accredited College or University required

    Work Experience:

    Minimum of two years of post Master's degree experience preferably in a child welfare/preventive setting requiredMinimum one year of supervisory experience required
