    Job Title:Senior Accountant

    Location: Chicago, IL

    Salary: Up to $100K + discretionary bonus and benefits

    Hybrid: 4 days in office (might have some flex)

    Interview process: 2 interviews.

    A national law firm focused on providing sophisticated legal advice, exceptional client service, and innovative solutions. Our deep bench of wealth planning attorneys team up with attorneys from all areas of expertise to service the full range of clients personal and business needs.

    Position Summary: The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our financial records and reporting. With meticulous attention to detail, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively will contribute to the firm's financial success.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements on a Cash Basis
    • Utilize accounting software to maintain financial records and generate reports
    • Prepare and file State and Local Business/Occupational/Use Tax Returns
    • Recommend and implement improvements to financial systems and processes
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger
    • Assist the annual budget and forecast and provide explanations regarding variances
    • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions
    • Complete monthly bank, balance sheet, and credit card reconciliations
    • Assist in the preparation and coordination of annual financial audits
    • Monitor cash flow and work to optimize cash management
    • Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation for audit and legal purposes
    • Other projects assigned by the Director of Finance

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 5+ years of experience in a law firm or professional services environment
    • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel
    • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
