    Description

    Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our company.

    About the Company:

    • Privately held multifamily real estate firm with offices in Chicago
    • Since 2009, our client has managed, invested, and acquired over $3.1 billion of multifamily assets across the United States with a focus on the residential real estate market and to add value, effectively repositioning communities across the nation
    • Our client acquires, manages, and invests in diverse multifamily properties. Ranging from high-end luxury assets to small-scale properties, our client continues to grow their multibillion dollar collection of communities

    Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

    • Reviewing tax returns but not preparing
    • No property accounting but our client does own 62 deals across portfolio and have a management team that does operational accounting-but this person would take care of some cash activity. (Cash reconciliations) but not a lot
    • YE starts
    • Will help with wrapping up YE, inputting cash activity and being able to review December Financials, escrow tied to, AP tied to (those sort of checks), making sure everything ties
    • Distributions to investors (will be heavily reviewed by CFO because its a big learning curve)
    • Have 2 deals that get audited (which is outsourced) but supplying the auditors with documentation
    • A bit of admin work with pulling financials and uploading to tax prepares portals (will download trial balance and general ledge and income statements for 2022 into tax portal)
    • Reviewing month end financials, reviewing K1s
    • Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
    • Report analysis and findings to management team

    ​Qualifications to be considered for the Senior Accountant position:

    • Previous experience as a senior accountant or higher level required. Preferably 5-6 years.
    • Real estate experience is preferred but not required
    • Reviewing K1s is a plus but not required
    • QuickBooks knowledge and experience preferred
    • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
    • Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
    • Detail and deadline-oriented
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
