    Manager, Ocean Business Development - Los Angeles, United States - Schenker & Co AG

    Description

    The Ocean Business Development Manager plays a key role in expanding Schenker's ocean business. This position focuses primarily on promoting all of Schenker's International Services to both potential and current clients, striving to surpass client expectations while upholding company guidelines.

    • Tasks & Responsibilities:
    • Develops new business through strategic planning and execution, with a primary emphasis on prospecting (30-40% of time) and converting leads into successful partnerships
    • Creates and maintains a robust prospecting plan, leveraging market knowledge, databases, industry associations, trade shows, networking opportunities, and other informational sources
    • Identifies key decision makers within target client organizations
    • Demonstrates a deep understanding of client industries, supply chains, and competitor solutions
    • Analyzes customer requirements to tailor customized solutions that meet their specific needs
    • Negotiates service terms and pricing, proposing additional services as needed
    • Secures service agreements and contracts
    • Focuses on retaining accounts by staying in regular communication with clients and sharing valuable feedback with management
    • Foresees evolving customer demands and translates them into service enhancements
    • Builds and nurtures customer relationships through active participation in networking events and hosting client meetings
    • Collaborates with Schenker's Business Development and Product Management Teams to craft compelling value propositions and solutions
    • Shares market insights, client data, industry trends, and competitor activities with Schenker staff
