They will be reporting to the General Manager who oversees multiple dining halls so the GM may not always be present. This person will supervise, ensure the dining hall is running smoothly, approving payroll, support the scheduling, and ensure all the food is out in a timely manner.
On-Going Contract, potential to go perm.
Report to:
General Manager & Managing DirectorHours: Depending on dining hall, hours could be first or second shiftHAVE TO work one weekend, will get a weekday off (For example: Work Saturday, get Monday off)8 Hours a day, 30+ hours a week
Job Summary:The Hospitality Operations Manager is the Ambassador for Hospitality.
They provide support to the General Managers of an assigned zone, reporting to the Managing Director, Residential Operations for their assigned units.
This position has responsibility of all aspects of front of the house operations with a strong focus on the servery for the university's residential dining operation.
Position Focus:
The Hospitality Operations Manager is responsible for supporting an assigned unit(s) in a zone of dining halls at the University. A key point of contact for General manager and reporting to the Managing Director of Operations, this position supports a team of 25 to 30 unionized staff and accomplished chefs who work to create three meals a day for students, faculty, and staff of the community. In addition, this position is responsible for supervising during meal hours, ensuring food quality, preparation, set up, taste, portioning and cleanliness of the dining hall are upheld to the highest standards.
Principal Responsibilities:
1.
Plan, organize and manage an operation within Hospitality to include:
residential student meals, executive dining and conference services.2.
Provide support to Resident General Manager in design, development and creation of a quality experience in the areas of:
set up, decoration, menu identifiers, linen, props and other aspects, daily service, special events, theme dinners and catered functions.3.
Provide support with menu forecasting standards with culinary teams.4.Collaborate with the General Managers to ensure the highest level of customer service by developing and overseeing food service standards, customer service policies, quality assurance, in-service training, proper food handling and sanitation standards.5.
Conduct regular service inspections and evaluations to observe food preparation and service, station appearance; and cleanliness and sanitation of production and service areas, equipment and employee uniform compliance.6.
Obtain guest feedback to create discretionary guest centric dialogue through surveys and "table touching."7. Implement and monitor housekeeping, sanitary and safety rules and regulations.8. Create and maintain strong working relationships with Heads of Colleges, faculty, administration, and students.9. Supervise dining room during meal periods and special events.Additional Skills & Qualifications:
IDEAL CANDIDATES:
Associates/bachelors degree with experience managing a restaurant (EX. Outback Steak House) and has worked within culinary before.
IDEAL Candidate:
Associates/Bachelors degree who has experience working with food services, like Sedexo, and has managed staff
IDEAL Candidate:
Bachelors degree within culinary arts and has had an internship
Skills & Abilities:Required Licenses or Certifications:ServSafe Certified and Valid Driver's License
