    Description

    The Joseph School is a 501c3 nonprofit organization supporting a primary school empowering Haitian students to become proud, capable leaders who think critically, lead confidently, and serve passionately.

    We are looking for a competent Communications and Administrative Coordinator to carry out functions related to communications and marketing for The Joseph School. This position will also provide support by performing daily administrative activities.

    Under the direct supervision of our Executive Director and in coordination with the Development Director, the Communications and Administrative Coordinator will:

    Communications

    • Monitor all social media accounts, write messages that attract new users, and engage current users by posting a minimum of two times per week
    • Active accounts currently include: Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
    • Promote all giving campaigns and fundraising events on all platforms
    • Manage monthly newsletter(s), email campaigns, and a yearly content calendar
    • Use analytical tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook Insights to monitor and evaluate organization's social media presence and performance
    • Regularly update linktree account and optimize profiles
    • Monitor, manage, and update TJS website and blog
    • Oversee and organize TJS photo galleries on google drive and dropbox
    • Assist in creating graphics and compiling digital and print materials used for outreach and fundraising within TJS brand standards

    Administrative

    • Maintain and organize all operational files, documents, and archives
    • Includes student and staff attendance, grades, financial documentation, etc.
    • Attend all staff meetings and take minutes
    • Manage and maintain all donor information in the CRM database Kindful
    • Data and gift entry + sending timely acknowledgement letters to donors
    • Coordinate bulk mailings to donors (campaigns + year end tax summaries)
    • Ordering + printing materials and sending the mail
    • Provide administrative support for events
    • Coordinate volunteers when needed
    • Oversee student sponsorships (tracking + sending correspondences)
    • Perform basic bookkeeping tasks when needed
    • Includes bill paying, mailing checks, submitting deposits, invoicing and assisting with monthly financial reconciliation
    • Coordinate and arrange travel for groups traveling to Haiti (when applicable)
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    Bachelor's degree in communications, digital marketing, or a related field is preferred

    Bachelor's degree in any field is required

    Requirements

    Social media experience with Facebook, Instagram, and others

    Strong written and verbal communications skills

    Staying up to date on the social and political climate of Haiti to provide appropriate content

    Microsoft Office and/or G Suite proficiency

    Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

    Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing

    Ability to work independently and function as a positive team member

    Strong computer literacy and knowledge of web analytics

    Willingness to learn

    Skills Desired

    Experience in administrative work

    Working knowledge of wordpress or a similar website management platform

    Experience using various analytics software and social media management platforms

    Basic to intermediate graphic design training

    Experience using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and/or Photoshop, Canva and Mailchimp

    Familiarity with Kindful CRM or similar donor database is a plus

    The successful candidate will have a desire to serve others and passion for helping people across cultures. The successful candidate will understand the need for The Joseph School while experiencing an excitement about being involved in such a mission.

    Working Conditions

    Full-time | 35-40 hours per week

    Location: Surrounding areas of Nashville, TN [WFH with exception of weekly meetings]
