- Implement and lead a comprehensive Major Gift donor program that encompasses a strategic approach to each phase of the donor development cycle, tailoring strategies as appropriate for each Corus brand. The strategic approach includes:
- Robust prospect identification and research capacity that effectively generates new leads for Donor Advisors.
- Comprehensive donor cultivation approach that incorporates personal, online, and offline tactics in an integrated manner.
- Dynamic and results-oriented approach to gift solicitation appropriately tailored to a prospect donor's propensity and capacity.
- Effective stewardship program that expresses gratitude and lays the foundation for future gifts.
- Develop, implement, and lead a Principal Gifts strategy leveraging all assets of the Corus International family of brands.
- Manage a portfolio of 50 Principal and high value relationships.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Development for Lutheran World Relief and the Director of Development for Corus World Health and the Executive Director of Ground Up Investing to develop major and principal gift strategies that align with the fundraising proposition and donor development strategy of each brand and raises the needed resources to fulfill their mission.
- Work closely with the Senior Director of Fundraising Operations and Analytics and the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications to develop the communications plans and systems needed to support the Corus International major and principal gifts strategy.
- Conduct regular joint visits with members of the Major Gifts team.
- Ensure the Major Gifts team are equipped with a suite of marketing materials that support donor discovery, cultivation, solicitation, reporting and stewardship and align with the respective brand proposition(s).
- Deliver presentations to internal stakeholders and collaborators to communicate the results of the major gift strategy.
- Advocate for continued and expanded investments in the major and principal gift programs by using results and performance analysis.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Fundraising Operations to develop CRM processes, donor journeys and procedures that deliver seamless donor experience and accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Fundraising Operations and Analytics to equip the team with prospect research tools and support that assign each Donor Advisor with a portfolio of donors and prospects that enables them to reach their goals.
- Ensure proper training of Major Gifts team in the CRM policy and procedures, conducting quality control of data entry in collaboration with the Senior Director of Fundraising Operations.
- Work with the GRR leadership team to ensure the major and principal gifts donor journeys deliver a seamless donor experience.
- The Senior Director supervises a team of six major Donor Advisors.
- Occasional supervision of external partners and vendors supporting the major and principal gift strategy.
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
- Minimum 10 years' progressively responsible and relevant experience in a growth-oriented sales/fundraising capacity required.
- Experience must include demonstrated success leading a team of fundraising professionals.
- Proven success in developing six and seven figure gifts with individual donors.
- Experience in leading a team in the achievement of aggressive growth goals.
- Proven success in strategy development and implementation with results that surpassed industry averages.
- Campaign experience preferred.
- Experience working within a multi-brand organizational structure with the ability to navigate the nuances of a complex organization.
- Experience working for a nonprofit organization a plus.
- Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) or other relevant credentials preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Raiser's Edge or similar CRM.
- The physical requirements that may be needed to execute responsibilities may include bending, standing, and walking, etc.
- The mental requirements that are essential to satisfactorily executing the responsibilities outlined in this job description include, but not limited to: learning new tasks, comprehending, and retaining information, completing tasks independently, effectively communicating verbally and in writing, demonstrating proficiency in using computer software to perform assigned tasks.
- Corus has a hybrid work policy, allowing work to be done remotely; 2-3 days/week minimum in the office is required. The employee must be available to work outside normal office hours or weekends as required.
- This position must be able to travel as required for standard domestic and international business purposes. While performing the duties of this job in different locations, the employee may be exposed to precarious settings under high-security risks and/or very basic living conditions and outside weather conditions, as well as to infectious diseases.

Corus International is seeking a Senior Director of Major Gifts Development to join its Global Relationships and Resources Department. This position may be based in Washington, DC, Baltimore, Maryland, or St. Paul Minnesota or fully remote if located outside these areas.
Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Major Gifts reports directly to the Associate Vice President of Global Relationships and Resources (GRR) and is an active member on the GRR leadership team. The Senior Director is responsible for the overall strategy, implementation, and management of the Major Gifts Portfolio. S/he leads a team of six geographically dispersed Donor Advisors who cultivate, solicit and steward gifts from donors who contribute to the mission of Corus International. The Major Gifts team develops major and principal gifts from supporters across the Corus International family with an emphasis on Lutheran World Relief, Corus World Health and Ground Up Investing constituencies. The Senior Director has demonstrated success in collaborating with stakeholders, strategy development, portfolio growth, team management and communications. The Senior Director will be successful in developing cases for support for each of the entities that effectively communicate their respective fundraising propositions.
