    ROLE AND PURPOSE

    • Assist in administering, managing, scheduling and budgeting for the Family Literacy Program.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education/Certification:

    • Associate degree or 2 years of higher education

    Experience:

    • Book keeping and data entry skills
    • Good organizational skills
    • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
    • Basic Word processing skills
    • Two years of clerical experience

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION CLIMATE

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Promotes a positive office climate
    • Maintains confidentiality

    ADMINISTRATION AND FISCAL/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

    • Purchase needed materials and supplies
    • Prepare payment authorizations
    • Perform routine office duties as directed
    • Open and prepare email
    • Receive all incoming telephone calls
    • Type correspondence, memorandums and directives
    • Set up and maintain and adequate filing system for records of the Family Literacy Program
    • Maintain reports and control of all forms and handouts as needed
    • Prepare and distribute materials and curriculum for the Family Literacy Program, teachers and assistants
    • Maintain reports for the Family Literacy Program (attendance and goals, data, pre and post test data)

    SCHOOL/COMMUNITY RELATIONS

    • Inform the Family Literacy Specialist of special needs or concerns of parents and/or teachers in the Family Literacy Program/Title I campuses.

    PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

    • Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings and special events as needed.

    MISCELLANEOUS

    • Performs other duties designated by the Family Literacy Specialist.
