    Summary:


    The Patient Services Representative (PSR) – interacts with patients, families, staff, visitors and physicians with the objective of enhancing the experience for those visiting California Protons.

    PSR's effectively manages the patient interaction in-person or our call center over the phone, which may include identification verification; updating or confirming demographic and insurance information on every patient; ensuring appropriate forms are provided to patients before their appointments.

    Proactively identifies opportunities to improve the experience of visits by patients, families, staff, volunteers etc.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Must greet all patients and guest in a professional caring manner in-person or over the phone.
    Accurate registration of patients by gathering information and entering all relevant data in system.
    Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate facility and patient needs.
    Verify demographics and update any necessary information in-person or over the phone.
    Schedule and confirm appointments with patient over the phone.
    Ensure appropriate forms are filled out correctly and provide assistance as needed.

    Must be able to keep track of patient in lobby to ensure patient do not leave when they have multiple appointment.

    Must be able to work well with nursing, imaging techs, radiation therapist and physicians in-person or over the phone.
    Must be able to multi task scanning forms, scheduling appointments and answering phone calls.
    Scheduling follow ups and diagnostic imaging appointments CT/MRI/PET over the phone.
    Accurate registration of patients by gathering information and entering all relevant data in system over the phone.
    Receive call, respond and route messages and inquiries appropriately.
    May assist in gathering necessary reports, statistics, and outcomes for the department as needed.
    Work with a team to complete all tasks.

    Proficiency of computer applications, MS Office, internet researchStrong organizational skills; innovative, intuitive with ability to identify and solve problemsThe ability to maintain HIPAA confidentiality at all times.

    Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data and establish factsExcellent communication and customer service skills often with the ability to de-escalate issuesAbility to adapt, prioritize and meet deadlines3-5 Years Customer Service experience and skills.

    Strong Healthcare, call center, patient advocacy experience.


    Qualifications/Experience/Education:
    Minimum one (1) year experience in a front office and/or business medical office positionRadiation Oncology experience a plusAbility to manage multiple priorities, patient expectations, and escalate issues to appropriate managementAbility to juggle multiple requests and manage working with all departments and differing expectations of staff, Physicians and patientsHigh School graduate or equivalent
