    Overview


    Schedule:
    Monday-Friday 10am- 7pm

    Purpose Statement/Position Summary:
    The Program Specialist is responsible for day-to-day oversight for department-specific programs.

    The Specialist will direct and coordinate program activities to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the estimated time period and in compliance with CHLA or other relevant agencies' policies.

    Under supervision of the Program Manager or Program Administrator, will monitor program workflows, engage community partners, and ensure desired program outcomes are achieved.

    Demonstrates independent thinking to assess all aspects of volunteer onboarding to identify potential cuddler candidates during volunteer prospect process for future development into specialized roles.

    Proactively evaluates volunteer referrals to specialized volunteer roles and oversees each volunteer's advancement into Cuddler programs (NICCU and TLCC). Collaborates with Volunteer Resources staff to maintain all compliance measures for specialized volunteers and annual recertification of volunteers.


    Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:


    This position requires an experienced individual with a minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated experience within a pediatric hospital setting.

    Ideal candidate will have a child development, human services or background including volunteer coordination/management or program development, planning and implementation.


    Skills Required:
    Self-starter with outstanding organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple assignments with minimal supervision. Must be able to meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with hospital staff, volunteers and
    donors. Experience in successful volunteer management. Adept public speaker, outgoing personality and team work focused. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Ability to organize time effectively and manage a large number of tasks simultaneously.

    Education/Licensure/Certification:


    Bachelor's degree in Child Development is required or other related fields such as Infant & Newborn Development or Neonatal Nursing.

    Pay Scale Information

    $52,208.00-$94,099.00

    CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization.

    Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry.

    The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.

    Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
