The UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCLA JCCC) is one of just 56 cancer centers in the United States to hold a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation as a comprehensive cancer center.
This designation is reserved for cancer centers with the highest achievements in cancer research, clinical care, education, and community-focused activities.
As such, it ranks the UCLA JCCC among the top centers in the nation.The UCLA JCCC's mission is to accelerate discoveries that prevent and cure cancer and to transform cancer care in Los Angeles County and beyond by driving scientific discovery, innovations in care, by training and mentoring the next generation of cancer researchers and physicians, and by working with and supporting our community partners to improve the health of the people the Center serves.
JCCC's Office of Cancer Training and Education (OCTE) Program Specialist is a key member of the OCTE team and reports to the OCTE's Administrative Director.
The Program Specialist works with the OCTE Program coordinator to coordinate and support existing and future programs, including curriculum development, speaker selection, scheduling, advertising, registration, meeting management, and program evaluation.
Under the guidance and direction of the Director, the Program Specialist is responsible for supporting a variety of education, training and mentoring activities and initiatives including:in-person and virtual event set-up; assist in new program development; website maintenance; data collection and reporting; etc
Salary:
$ $40.44 hourly
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong Excel and data management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in teams and independently and to set priorities that accurately reflect the importance of job responsibilities.
- Ability to prioritize and organize projects through multiple phases. Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on multiple tasks simultaneously with careful attention to detail and with mínimal supervision.
- Experience working in a complex organizational structure with multiple reporting requirements.
- Strong computer skills to include project management, databases, data analytics, Microsoft office, and financial management.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to present, communicate, and interact effectively with senior leadership, faculty, and staff on campus.
- Strong project management and metrics tracking skills
Preferred:
- Knowledge of training and education programs at UCLA.
- Knowledge of the National Cancer Institute's Cancer Center Support Grant
