- Enrollment
- Schedule and coordinate screening/enrollment visits
- Perform screening procedures per study protocol including approaching participants in clinic or by phone, requesting and reviewing medical records, and asking eligibility questions
- Complete informed consent procedures with patients during standard of care clinic visits as well as during scheduled research encounters
- Schedule and coordinate all study data collection visits with various Penn clinics/providers and departments for patient baseline, follow up, and end of study visits
- Serve as main point of contact for study participants
- Work with providers on the collection of bio-specimens and prepare samples for processing and storage
- Work with providers and study participants on the completion of CRFs and source documentation for study assessments, questionnaires, and other data collection procedures
- Fiscal Operations-Study Start-Up
- Support start up process for external study sites and business vendors including coordination and review of feasibility assessments, scope of work, and operational expenses to ensure they are able to initiate research studies and provide services within strict budgets and timeframes
- Coordinate with department Grants Team, OCR, and ORS to support progress of study site initiation within specified study milestones
- Serve as liaison to external sites to support preparation and review of site invoices, coordinate payment tracking, respond to site inquiries, and resolve data vs. invoice discrepancies
- Coordinate submission and tracking of invoice payments for vendors and external study sites
- Initiate user accounts and payment for individual research participants via Clincard or other payment systems and monitor payments at Penn and external study sites
- Support preparation, review, and submission of expenditure and progress reports for various investigators
- Participate in research team meetings, and ongoing protocol training and fiscal meetings
- Support and interact with PIs, co-investigator, research managers, and other CRCs and staff
- Maintain all relevant trainings and certifications (CITI, GCP, PENN CRC certificate and assigned Penn Profiler trainings)
- Adhere to all University of Pennsylvania, GCP, and FDA guidelines
- Position involves work-related responsibilities that may occur outside of usual 8:30am-5:00pm workday

- Bachelor of Science preferably in Business Management, Communication, Administration or other related field and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Job Description Summary
The Clinical Research Coordinator B (Fiscal Operations) will be responsible for performing screening, consent, and data collection procedures for various research studies as well as play a critical role in monitoring fiscal operations of external research sites in order to ensure timely submissions and follow up of invoices and payments to research participants.
This position will work with external sites in drafting and reviewing invoices and be available to assist in resolving research data queries in order to process payments.
They will assist in site budget development and communications both with internal and external contacts.The candidate should have excellent organization skills, decision-making ability and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with time sensitive guidelines.
The candidate should be self-directed and capable of directing his or her own work with minimal to moderate supervision.Job Description
