In this role, the Saint-Gobain Technical Project Manager - Infrastructure Services will architect, plan, deploy and maintain the centralized core business systems and infrastructure for Saint-Gobain businesses in the US and Canada. Primary responsibilities will include providing level 3 technical operational support, maintenance, troubleshooting and project management. Common activities consist of performing expert level solutioning, implementation, migrations and upgrades of Windows and LINUX OS systems. Maintaining server hardware, application of security updates, and addressing technical operational problems is required. The successful candidate will be involved in acquisition and divestiture related IT projects and should display a high level of competence in solutioning and migrating at the hardware, operating system, and infrastructure service level. A strong understanding of firewall flows is required.

TheTechnical Project Manager - Infrastructure Services will be able to accomplish this by enforcing compliance to security and infrastructure standards. The ideal candidate will lead in the technical scoping of IT infrastructure needed to meet the functional business requirements through project plans and capacity planning processes. The Services Systems Engineer III position requires excellent interpersonal skills and communication, both oral and written, to deliver monthly system reports to the business customer applications groups and Business Relationship Managers (BRM). The ideal candidate will have Azure Cloud hosting experience and be familiar with the technical aspects of cloud operations, including the ability deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure through IaC using Gitub and CI/CD pipelines.

System Management & Technical Proficiencies:

• Communicates to the Businesses and ensures optimal performance on contracts that have been established to ensure Service Level Agreements are met
• Lead the planning and execution of all projects, acquisitions, divestitures, and refreshes as it relates to the assigned business application contract
• Guides the annual capacity planning exercise working closely with the Business Relationship Managers (BRM) to provide the right level of equipment in a cost-conscious manner
• Acts as a subject matter expert as needed from any of the functional areas that are under management
• Ensures that infrastructure standards are in line with technology roadmap provided by corporate IT
• Ensures that core infrastructure is kept current on operating system upgrades and patches and plan for end-of-life scenarios
• The ideal candidate will have a high level of proficiency in the implementation, support and troubleshooting of the following hardware and OS technologies:

  • Azure Cloud, CI / CD pipeline for Infrastructure related deployment
  • Scripting program languages like PowerShell, batch, terraform.
  • AIX (a plus)

Customer relationship:

• Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer through open and interactive communication
• Must be agile and able to handle multiple requests and changing priorities
• Ensure that customer needs are considered in line with the strategy defined by global IT team
• Measure customer satisfaction, handle customer complaints, and provide appropriate solutions and alternatives under time constraints
• Resolve service problems and determine cause. Advise of best solution, expedite correction or adjustment, and follow up to ensure resolution
• Follow communication procedures, change management guidelines and policies

Technical Documentation:

• Responsible for creating technical documents and manuals creating complex information in a clear and concise manner and working with SGTS teams to ensure accuracy of detailed descriptions
• Plan, develop, organize, write, and edit operational procedures and manuals
• Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manuals
• Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
• Manage updates and revisions to technical literature
• Ensure updates to inventory, as well as the mapping and technical documentations concerning infrastructures

Security Scope:

• Ensure that infrastructure and security global standards and objectives that have been developed by The Saint-Gobain DSI Group are communicated to the business application groups and are implemented in a timely fashion
• Work closely with the Security Officer for the US and Canada to ensure that the security rules for the data-center infrastructure is compliant with DSI security doctrine. The application of mandated security updates and anti-virus measures is of critical importance to be completed within the designated time window
• Have a solid background and understanding of system-to-system communications and be able to generate firewall rule requests and flow diagrams

• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in the required field
• 10 years' experience managing OS, hardware, and configuring enterprise infrastructure solutions
• Exceptional technical knowledge of servers, networks, Cloud environments and data centers
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• High level of agility and ability to handle shifting demands
• Deep knowledge and expertise in data center and data center management, operations, and design
• Knowledge and expertise in enterprise solutions such as SAN, Fiber switches, enterprise class infrastructure, backup technologies, wiring, rack optimization etc
• Knowledge and expertise in: Azure Cloud solutions and virtual environments; best practices of system configuration management and maintenance; server operating systems such as MS Windows Server, Linux required (AIX / UNIX a plus)
• Knowledge and expertise of: server virtualization technologies such as VMware; server infrastructure and hardware components; backup software, processes, and technologies (Veritas NetBackup preferred);current industry standard security standards around server and infrastructure technologies
• Ability to establish efficient processes through automation and write scripts in some administrative language, such as Windows PowerShell, terraform, Perl, Python, VBScript a plus
• Strong understanding of enterprise system management (SANs, LANs, WANs)
• Ability to act as a vendor liaison, make presentations to customers or client audiences or professional peers
• Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, data processing concepts, and communications principles
• Knowledge of IT Security / Cyber Security
• Ability to perform general mathematical calculations for the purpose of creating
