    Data Warehouse Developer, 8 + years

    Experience in the housing and financial sector, particularly in accounting, bonds, mortgages, underwriting, loans origination and servicing;

    Additionally, knowledge in grants, tax credits, property/buildings asset management and compliance reporting.

    Job Summary

    New York State Homes and Community Renewal is in the process of modernizing its business applications and is looking for a Data Warehouse Developer within the Information Technology department to participate in designing and constructing an enterprise data warehouse.

    The Developer should have extensive experience in software analysis, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of Data Warehouse/Data Marts. Collaborating with project managers, IT staff, and other stakeholders, the Developer will define and develop requirements for the enterprise data warehouse. They will utilize specialized skills and tools to perform various duties and responsibilities:

    The Developer will leverage their business analysis expertise to facilitate requirements sessions and communicate effectively with end-users, developers, managers, and team members. They will be responsible for coordinating data collection, documenting information, presenting findings, creating workflow charts, providing ad-hoc query support, and generating reports.

    Strong technical knowledge of IT systems, business analysis planning, listening skills, and interviewing techniques are essential for the Developer. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent writing skills to ensure clear communication with customers, marketing, managers, and technical teams.

    Reporting to the CIO and indirectly to the VP/Application Development Manager, the Developer will be instrumental in helping HCR meet its strategic, analytical, and operational reporting needs. Critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and recommending innovative solutions are key traits for the ideal candidate.

    Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

    - Experience in architecting and designing Enterprise Data warehouse solutions.

    - Developing Data Warehouse/Data Marts using various tools like OBIEE, OBI APPS, Cognos, Business Objects, SPSS, SSIS, SSRS, Informatica Power Center, OWB, and ODI.

    - Designing metadata standards for the enterprise data warehouse.

    - Creating ETL processes using Dimensional Modeling for ROLAP and MOLAP, ETL architecture, BI load planning, and cycle management.

    - Developing end-to-end Data warehouse ETL routines and utilizing advanced SQL for analytical functions.

    - Writing PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, cursors, triggers, views, and materialized views.

    - Creating data Warehouse Test plans, test scripts, and executing tests for different environments.

    - Designing Logical and Physical data Models for enterprise data warehouse.

    - Configuring Interactive Dashboards with drill-down capabilities and time-series functions.

    Qualifications:

    - Bachelor's degree; MBA or relevant technical degree preferred.

    - Strong technology background and experience in analyzing and evaluating information.

    - Proficiency in writing business and functional requirements documentation.

    - Ability to work effectively in a team, resolving conflicts and decomposing high-level information into details.

    - 7-10 years of related professional business/project analyst experience.

    - Excellent communication skills and familiarity with MS Office and design tools like Visio.
