    Associate Director, Community Outreach The Associate Director, Community Outreach works with Elevate's Director of Strategic Communications in designing and implementing projects that engage families, building owners and community partners in energy education.

    This includes efficiency, renewables, smart technology and related measures.

    The Associate Director also leads and drives the outreach efforts for all Elevate programs with a focus on residential, multi-family, non-profit and community-based programs.

    This role partners with foundations, government entities, and other funders to develop efforts that successfully empower communities to advocate for their energy needs through participating in existing as well as future energy programs/projects with measurable outcomes.

    The ultimate goal of this effort is to ensure a grassroots /community-based approach to reduce the energy burden for families and increase access to jobs.

    The Associate Director, Community Outreach provides both program and operational support in the day-to-day running of such efforts.

    Tasks include, but will not be limited to:

    program design, funder communications and RFP response, development, partner and client support, strategic planning, project management, supervision of staff, staffing support, metrics and reporting.

    The Associate Director, Community Outreach participates in the leadership team and assists with other management and training needs for Elevate.

    The Associate Director, Community Outreach reports to the Director of Strategic Communications.

    Responsibilities


    Develop and implement new projects and programs centered on engagement of building owners, especially single-family owners, through direct community engagement and related tactics.

    Identify opportunities for integration of community-based energy education projects focused on energy efficiency, smart technology, demand-response programs and opportunities for renewable energy.

    Support the ongoing implementation of community-based outreach in support of residential single and multi-family energy upgrades.
    Supervise and support field staff performing grassroots work in communities throughout our service area.
    Develop, track, and report upon metrics for tracking project and program success
    Support strategic and business planning activities.
    Work with staff, partners, stakeholders, and community leaders to assist in the implementation of Elevate's programs.
    Represent Elevate with local, state, and national energy efficiency stakeholders at meetings, conferences, etc.
    Communicate regular project and program updates and results to internal staff and external stakeholders.
    Develop and implement energy efficient retrofit strategies including program design, metrics, budget, staffing and funding.
    This role would include outreach management and consulting services.
    Perform other duties as required in assistance to and in cooperation with other Elevate staff.
    Previous experience with direct customer service.
    Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications and Skills

    Demonstrated successes in community-based organizing and proven leadership in engaging individuals to participate in programs, campaigns, or other activities
    Strong project management skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and client engagements required
    Experience managing or working with energy efficiency programs and/or sustainability-related consulting preferred
    Superior verbal/public speaking and written communication ability
    The ability to translate complex technical concepts into easily understood and appreciable messages
    Demonstrate business maturity and the capacity to manage clients' requirements and handle delicate situations and complex personalities
    The ability to work independently and as part of a team as well as coordinating the day-to-day activities of staff and interacting productively with project staff, department managers, and other key stakeholders
    Ability to synthesize data and information into a clear and simple presentation
    Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with high degree of accuracy
    Process- and detail-oriented
    Excellent organization skills
    Strong Excel skills, competency with Microsoft Office suite
    Up to 30% of travel is required as needed
    Valid Driver's License

    CompensationThe total compensation for this position includes health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.), defined contribution benefit (401k with contribution), professional development, generous paid time off policies, and a flexible schedule.

    This is an exempt individual contributor position with a salary range of $100,000 - $110,000, based on experience.
