Job Function:

Providing health education and facilitating resource linkage for women who face barriers to accessing healthcare. Actively work towards improving access to annual screenings, diagnostic services, and foster health awareness among immigrants and refugees.


Responsibilities:


  • Connect women who are immigrants, refugees, and disengaged with the healthcare system to suitable healthcare providers for wellcare visits. This involves understanding individual needs, addressing potential barriers, and facilitating seamless access to essential healthcare services.
  • Create comprehensive and engaging health education materials tailored to program participants. This includes creating presentations, informative handouts, social media, and flyers that effectively convey health information relevant to our community including women's health, mental health, selfadvocacy, healthy relationships, nutrition, and wellness.
  • Provide health education presentations for both program participants and partner organizations. The presentations should incorporate evidencebased information and interactive elements to enhance participant engagement.
  • Survey and interview women of childbearing age to further identify and understand the health barriers faced by women in the community.
  • Tailor outreach strategies and refining program initiatives to address specific health concerns. Synthesize into a plan of action to address barriers.
  • Establish links between program participants and relevant community resources.
  • Assist program participants to ensure they receive necessary care and resources.
  • Efficiently ensures the smooth operation of healthcare services.
  • Manage events, recordkeeping, and other administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with local organizations and support services to enhance the health of program participants and improve their ability to access healthcare.
  • Proactively engage in community outreach including organizing events, participating in community gatherings, and fostering relationships with community leaders.
  • Maintaining a high level of professionalism, including integrity, ethics, and respect for confidentiality, is fundamental.

Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities)

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthrelated field and/or equivalent field experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products & thirdparty software.
  • A genuine concern for the wellbeing of others and the ability to empathize with their struggles fosters a supportive and understanding approach.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Advocacy skills.
  • Motivational skills.
  • Bilingual language skills preferred.
  • An understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures, beliefs, and practices.
  • A high level of professionalism, including integrity, ethics, and respect for confidentiality, is fundamental.

  • Daily access to an insured, personal vehicle.
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs and to bend, sit and stand for varying periods of time during the workday.
  • Ability to work during normal business hours (8am 5pm) with occasional evening and weekend hours.
