    Description:


    The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for our Friday Sack Lunch & Hospitality program, monthly food drives, and assists the Director of Community Outreach in yearly service programs like Jesse Tree and Service Day.

    Responsibilities


    • Coordinate volunteer opportunities and service events, including scheduling and communicating with volunteers and partner organizations.
    • Support communication/promotion of upcoming outreach programs and service opportunities.
    • Coordinate and organize the parish Friday Sack Lunch & Hospitality program.
    • Support the planning, coordination, and production of outreach events, e.g.,the Jesse Tree Christmas program and Service Day.
    • Coordinate and organize monthly collection/food drives with parishioners and partnering organizations.
    • Brainstorm and assist in designing justice-centered formation programs/opportunities for volunteers.
    • Support the further development of service programming in collaboration with Saint Clement School.
    • Organize, inventory, and distribute in-kind donations from parish drives and other events.
    • All other responsibilities as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Passionate about and committed to the Mission of the Catholic Church, Saint Clement parish and the Archdiocese of Chicago.
    • Demonstrates understanding, respect and support for Catholic Church teachings, mission and values.
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience in Theology, Religious Studies, Social Work.
    • Familiarity with Catholic Social Teaching is preferred.
    • Ability to engage with others, work as a team, and communicate effectively in person and in writing.
    • Detail oriented and able to work independently.
    • Commitment to radical hospitality and empathy.
    • Able to organize workflow and manage variety of tasks concurrently.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook.
