    Job Description and Duties

If you are interested in a challenging opportunity in a high-energy, team-oriented environment, you are encouraged to apply.Under the supervision of the Program Manager I, the Disaster Assistance Program Specialist I (DAPS I) is responsible for working with significant independence to assist eligible applicants with moderate-to-highly complex projects in applying for federal and state disaster assistance funding. Works within various programs including grants management, public assistance, research analysis and documentation, and administration. Serves as the point of contact for assigned disaster project and/or application closeouts containing public infrastructure repair projects of varying size and complexity. Prepares Final Inspection Reports (FIRs) based on documentation analysis and federal/state program guidelines, ultimately providing a final funding recommendation for each project addressed in each FIR.

    This position is located in the Disaster Closeout Unit III in Mather

    Training and Development (T&D) assignments are temporary assignments to provide an employee training and experience to move to a different occupational field. A T&D assignment is a formal agreement between the employee, the current supervisor, and the new supervisor. The duration of agreements can vary in length but shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months. The duration may also be the length of experience needed to meet the minimum qualifications. Please note they are only available to current California State employees who have permanent status.

    Working Conditions

    Telework - This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule which includes up to two days of remote work per week. Additional in office days may be required based on the business need.

    DMV Pull Program - Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid Driver's License (DL). You must answer the questions addressing your DL on your application. Ensure you provide your DL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.

    Conflict of Interest - This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code and is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.

    THIS POSITION IS SUBJECT TO THE POST & BID PROCESS: Priority will be given to Cal OES Post & Bid applicants (if any).
