Why Join DHCS?

  • Under direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the incumbent assumes responsibility in methodology development and implementing policy procedures and fiscal oversight for the Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA). The BHSA provides funds to local governments for the provision of behavioral health services to assist with the treatment and prevention of mental illness and substance use disorders.
  • Travel is required 10% of the time. The position may require overnight travel for up to 3 consecutive nights to meet training requirements.

Working Conditions


The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) participates in a hybrid work environment.

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), Community Support Division (CSD) is located in Sacramento, CA. However, CSD will consider qualified applicants throughout the State who are interested in this position. Should the incumbent need to report to an office they will need to report, at their own expense, to DHCS/CSD headquarters located at 1501 Capitol Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95814.
