    Description

    Market Venice is looking to add a sous chef to our team Tucked under the arches in one of the oldest buildings in Venice, on one of the most historic streets in the city, you find Market — a modern Italian restaurant. The plates are a fresh twist on Italian cuisine, designed to be shared European family-style.


    Outside of the obvious cooking skills needed; great palette, knife skills, safety consciousness, butchering of whole animals and fresh pasta making, we are looking for a candidate:

    • Spearhead weekly inventory.
    • Comfortable with all types of ordering.
    • Self-motivated with a natural ability to lead.
    • Thorough understanding of financial acumen.
    • Great time management.
    • Willingness to learn and grow.
    • Committed to maintaining a positive and collaborative kitchen culture.
    • Is level headed and composed. No yelling or belittling of anyone on the team.
    • Effectively leads by demonstrating a professional approach with coworkers through great leadership skills, ethics, and team development.
    • With minimum 2 years experience as a Sous Chef in a similar environment.

    BONUS:

    • Speaks Spanish.
    • Comfortable with scheduling
    • Experienced with disciplining staff and providing write ups when needed
    • Menu collaboration



    Details

    • 5 days/week set schedule
    • 50% contribution towards medical.
    • 2 weeks PTO
    • 70-75k / year salary depending on canidate
