- Set-up all automation equipment in the process. This includes machine and fixture set-up to meet process specifications, setting up all calibrated gauges required to run the operation, and obtaining all necessary paperwork needed.
- Monitor production runs for correct set-up and process verification on set-up.
- Recommend and apply new applications and technologies in the plant.
- Optimize current applications to maximize production and quality.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting on all machine applications, vision systems, inline gauges and poke yokes.
- Assist in implementation of new processes, sampling jobs, and collect data for experiments.
- Identify, correct, and escalate any safety incidents or near misses in the area. Follow all safety rules and keep work area clean and in an orderly condition.
- Responsible for efficient shift start-up by being open to flexible scheduling and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Audit all safety and quality standards in the area and ensure the employees are following them.
- Assist operators, Maintenance, and Engineering in troubleshooting equipment problems.
- Coordinate work with vendors, purchasing, and maintenance.
- Escalate or request maintenance work needed to support production needs.
- Assist in planning and implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
- Assist engineering, quality, and other support groups as required.
- Escalate production issues when needing support from other groups.
- Perform necessary recordkeeping and paperwork.
- Train and assist operators as required.
- Participate in team problem solving as part of the departmental continuous improvement process.
- Responsible for driving continuous improvement in the area.
- Communicate effectively with team members any operational updates or process changes.
- Wear all personal protective equipment as required by the safety policy.
- Seek help if problems arise and ask questions if you do not understand.
- Use various testing devices, chemicals, and material handling equipment according to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
- Be responsible and accountable for the professional use of assigned work periods, machinery, equipment, and tools.
- Support and participate in the departmental structure of self-directed work teams.
- Understand and perform to the BN Quality Policy taking pride in the products produced. Performs ISO 14001 work instructions as identified in, "ISO 14001 Work Instruction Assignments" & IATF 16949 Standards

Job DescriptionABOUT THE ROLE
Amsted Automotive Group – BN Geneva Piston Pin Operation has a need for a Process Lead-Grinding. Grinding provides technical guidance and direction by ensuring the integrity of the centerless grinding process, condition of the production equipment, and safe working environment for all team members. Core responsibilities include grind line set-up and production support, performing program adjustments and troubleshooting of automation equipment, and maintaining functionality and effectiveness of all inline gauges, poka yokes, vision systems, and precision measuring equipment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Education:
High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
Experience:
Desire some basic experience in manufacturing, use of measurement equipment, automation applications, machine vision/camera technology, and electrical & mechanical troubleshooting
Skills & Knowledge:
Base skills should include manufacturing automation awareness, ability to read blueprints, forklift operation, and precision measurement tools and methods. Process lead must have excellent communication and organizational skills, such as writing progress reports and identifying opportunities that would drive revenue resources for the business
Supervisory Responsibility:
Lead responsibility for checking, assigning and delegating work for subordinate employees. No final responsibility for hiring or firing.
