    Description
    Wellfound is hiring a Business Support Specialist to join our finance team. This is a Monday - Friday on site position.
    Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital is a 120-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Tacoma, Washington. We are Department of Health and Joint Commission accredited. We are an acute care psychiatric hospital providing care to both voluntary and involuntary patients.

    Position information:


    The Business Support Specialist will be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team and is responsible for assisting hospital leadership with administrative duties.

    Work situations are varied and could require extensive follow-ups, special situational knowledge, and strong customer service skills. This role functions at a complex level of implementation, analysis, and resolution.

    A large part of the duties will be assisting the UM Director, HR Director and Executives on projects with some daily administrative duties.

    The role will be required to be trained for back up in direct notification, precertification, and preauthorization of admissions, as well as retro appeal follow up.

    The role may require interviewing patients with the Care Coordinator and/or Social Worker to assist with insurance forms or calling insurance payers, as well as coordinating or calling family members with an ROI in place to gather financial or insurance information.

    This role may be utilized as back up for departmental administrative duties. This position will support business projects at the direction of leadership and the executive team. This role will involve confidential duties reporting to the CFO.

    Hourly:
    $23 - $35 an hour based on experience

    403B with discretionary match for those that participate in the plan and meet work requirements
    Paid Time Off - You will accrue Paid Sick and Safe Leave at 1 hour per 40 hours worked. Paid Sick leave cannot be used until 90 days after your hire date.
    Paid Time Off will be accrued based on hours worked and tenure. You will accrue 0.12 hours of PTO per hours worked until you reach the next level of accrual. PTO cannot be used until 90 days after your hire date with the exception of designated Wellfound holidays.


    What We Require:

    Education:


    Associates degree required, preference in business or healthcare related field; equivalent years of experience or combination of experience and vocational secretarial coursework completion will be considered in lieu of degree with high school or equivalent.


    Work Experience:
    Three (3) years' experience in administrative duties with at least one (1) year experience in healthcare billing or utilization management
