Description

The ideal candidate could join the rest of the IT team in the office in downtown Madison (we have indoor parking in the building) on Tuesdays, and also as-needed to do laptop builds for new employees. The latter is only as-needed, and probably would max at like 3-4 days a month.

Looking for: We're happy to train on the company specific elements of the job, but also need to get somebody up and running and helping carry the load.

Client Job Description:

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for responding to help desk requests in a timely manner, escalating requests as needed, deploying and configuring software, account creation and deactivation, training end-users on systems and security, creating and maintaining documentation. Troubleshoot network, workstation, and server issues. Participate in projects as needed.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

•Monitor and respond to helpdesk inquiries. Escalate tickets as needed based on volume or complexity.

•Troubleshoot hardware and software errors, assess impact, prioritize issues, and bring issues to an acceptable resolution.

•Perform new hire onboarding.

•Train users on IT equipment and IT supported software.

•Provision and Decommission user accounts in a variety of environments including Office 365, SharePoint, Azure, Active Directory.

•Create and modify firewall rules, DHCP reservations, and DNS records.

•Create and support virtual machines in a Hyper-V and ESXi environment.

•Create and maintain technical documentation relevant to IT processes, issues, configurations, and infrastructure.

•Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Associates Degree in Information Technology or comparable experience.

•1-2 years of experience supporting end-users.

•Proficient with Windows and MacOS operating systems.

•Linux experience is desirable.

•Ideal candidate would be able to attend weekly in person meetings and travel to the Madison, WI office as needed.

•Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

•Must be service-oriented with a commitment to providing excellent internal customer service and support.

•Must have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds of computer equipment.

•Must be able to work well within a fast-paced environment.

•Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

•Must be positive, upbeat, friendly and approachable.
