    About the Job: Director, Major Gifts at WaterAid America

    The worldwide issue of 1 in 4 individuals lacking access to clean water is not acceptable at all, and that's the change we aim for. WaterAid America, the leading global non-profit organization dedicated to providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education to those in need, is in pursuit of individuals who resonate with our cause.

    WaterAid America is on the lookout for an enthusiastic fundraising professional for the role of Director, Major Gifts. While New York City is the preferred location, candidates from across the United States are welcome to apply.

    In this role, you'll be essential in creating impactful relationships with private donors, focusing on engaging high-net-worth individuals to support our cause. The ideal candidate should showcase a strong passion for our mission alongside exceptional communication and influencing skills.

    • Identify, cultivate, and secure mutually beneficial relationships with donors capable of making significant charitable contributions
    • Develop tailored materials and proposals for presentations to potential donors
    • Research and engage with high-net-worth individuals aligned with our mission
    • Collaborate with country programs and contribute to global campaigns
    • Document donor interactions in the fundraising database
    • Contribute to the overall growth of the fundraising team

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience in fundraising or client-facing roles
    • Strong relationship-building and strategic planning skills
    • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software
    • Commitment to WaterAid's values and mission
