    Location:
    Remote in the United States, preferably on the East Coast

    Job Description


    The accounting manager role is responsible for performing any combination of duties relating to financial transactions, compliance and reporting and supports the Corporate Controller by ensuring the proper GAAP presentation of all financial statements are complete and accurate.

    Responsibilities


    Oversee month end closing activities including the input of general journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and creation and input of accruals, reversing and closing entries.

    Prepare and oversee customer invoicing, collections and revenue recognitionVendor invoice management including expense coding and paymentsOverseeing employee expense report submissions and approvals for compliance with the Company's expense policy before reimbursementsReview of semi-monthly employee payroll processing and generation of payroll accounting entriesPrepare, analyze and issue timely and accurate interim and annual financial statementsOversee the daily operations within the accounting function and advise Group Controllership regarding handling of non-routine transactionsMonitor & analyze accounting data to produce daily/monthly reports for managementAssist in establishing and ensuring enforcement of accounting policies, best practices and internal controlsMaintain files and supporting records to document transactionsManage the timely response to the external auditors and tax preparersPreparation and management of sales tax, property tax and 1099 return filingsSupport budget and forecasting activitiesAssist in maintaining the fixed asset management system, including proper recording of fixed assets and depreciationMaintain good relationships with members of management including developing systems to better meet their needsQualifications

    A 4-year accounting degree is required4-7 years experience in progressively increasing rolesExperience with Government contracting and billing is strongly desiredPublic Accounting experience is desiredCPA certification is preferredExcellent organization skills and attention to detailAbility to maintain high levels of confidentialityExcellent written and verbal communications skillsExperience with QuickBooks, NetSuite and Microsoft office products is preferredRequirements
