Accounting Manager

A highly successful Digital Media Advertising/News Paper company located in Boston is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their growing team As the Accounting Manager, you will manage a team of 3 and be responsible for overseeing the GL function, journal entries, reconciliations, and quarter/year end. We are seeking candidates with strong GL experience, as well as prior experience managing a team, and a desire to work in the Advertising industry

Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of accounting including, analysis, reconciliation, journal entries, and month end close
Mentor and support the growth of team members
Account reconciliation review and analysis to ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate policies/procedures to ensure accurate balances, timeliness of journal entries and completion of all account reconciliations
Assess, implement, and monitor all internal control practices
Monitor/analyze accounting data and produce financial reports and statements
Establish and maintain financial records in accordance with US GAAP and compliance with internal controls

Ensure proper revenue recognition of complex multi-element activities, including revenue models related to advertising subscriptions
Provide ad hoc financial reports or related support as needed

Qualifications:

BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field, CPA preferred
5-15 years of experience
Prior experience managing an accounting team
Must be willing to be onsite 3 days/week
Strong GAAP and accounting principles, standards, laws, regulations, etc.
