- Support the BGCMLA Athletics & Health Strategy to promote healthy lifestyles, regular physical activity, and address social issues like obesity and diabetes.
- Assist in developing and implementing programs related to Healthy Lifestyles, including sports leagues, recreation events, and curriculum development.
- Lead various sports and physical activities while promoting sportsmanship and safety.
- Supervise student behavior during sports activities.
- Maintain age-appropriate discipline following Boys & Girls Clubs' philosophy.
- Coordinate sports activities, encourage teamwork, and engagement.
- Promote program participation and create a positive youth environment.
- Provide guidance, role modeling, and social-emotional skill development for members.
- Ensure open communication with parents, BGCMLA staff, and Health & Wellness Director.
- Transport children to different functions as required.
- Maintain program areas and equipment for quality and safety.
- Complete any other assigned duties.
- Minimum of a High School diploma or GED, with at least two years of college experience. Preferably, a Four-year degree in a related field.
- Two years of direct youth service experience, project management skills, and experience with at-risk youth.
- At least one year of supervisory or leadership experience in a similar organization.
- Flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Valid drivers' license, clean driving record, criminal background check.
- First Aid, CPR certification, and TB test clearance.
- Physical fitness to participate in fitness programs.
- Understanding of Boys & Girls Clubs' mission and youth development principles.
- Skilled in program planning, organization, and supervision.
- Effective leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Expertise in working with youth and parents, multitasking, and relationship building.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Travel between sites, schools, field trip locations is required.
- Work in both community and office settings with occasional evening or weekend hours.

OVERVIEW
The Athletics & Health Coordinator plays a crucial role in implementing the Athletics & Health strategy for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles, creating safe, supportive, and culturally responsive environments for youth to develop social-emotional skills.
