    General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for a Continuous Improvement Sr. Specialist to join our Wilkes Barre, PA Team.     Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements | Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data | Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and reduced cost | Determines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes | May specialize in one or more of the following areas: benchmarking, business process analysis and reengineering, change management and measurement, and/or process-driven systems requirements

    Major Position Responsibilities:

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Studies organizational processes and operations and develops quality and efficiency improvements.
    • Evaluates internal processes and identifies opportunities for improvements.
    • Gathers data for key performance indicators for functions being reviewed, evaluates current state, and proposes future state goals and objectives.
    • Measures results of implemented improvement strategies and modifies continuous improvement programs in response.
    • Assists in the development and delivery of continuous improvement related training programs.
    Basic Qualifications:

    Required Education: Associate's Degree OR Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education & Experience

    Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree

    Discipline/Major: Computer, Software or Systems Engineering degree preferred

    Additional Certifications: Lean, Six Sigma, or related certification preferred.

    Years and Area of Experience (required for the role): 5-7 years experience Accounting/ Cost Estimating experience

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Problem management. Judgement. Detail oriented. Attentiveness. Project management skills.

    Critical Professional Related Technical Skills; Computer Skills: Proficient with use of Microsoft Office
