    **POSITION SUMMARY****:**

    The Retail Senior Accountant will report to the Retail Accounting Supervisor and perform a variety of duties such as maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial reports, assisting with audits and the budgeting process, and reconciling accounts. Additionally, the Retail Senior Accountant will partner closely with the Companys finance team to support the execution of strategic, financial, and operational plans. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting acumen plus business and financial analysis experience.

    **RESPONSIBILITIES:**

    Perform various month-end general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations in areas including, but not limited to cash, prepaids, intangibles, goodwill and various operating expenses

    Accumulate all necessary month-end and year-end supporting documentation to support the completeness and accuracy of the close.

    Participate or lead in the interpretation of new accounting guidance relevant to the business or channel and provide recommendation on how to execute.

    Participate in the preparation of various reports and analytics, as needed, which may include the following channels: US wholesale, retail and e-commerce.

    Assist or own the creation, analytics, and interpretation of financial activity to advise cost center business partners on profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the business

    Analyze financial results for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to Finance attention

    Interact with various departments within the Company to ensure the accuracy of accounting entries

    Assist finance management with annual budgeting

    Assist with the review of Accounts Payable batches for proper GL coding to ensure accurate expense tracking

    Assist in the research monthly of budget vs. actual fluctuations to ensure explanation are accurate, complete, and reasonable.

    Provide support and aid to internal and external audits

    In order to maintain a balanced workload and meet deadlines in a timely manner candidate may be required to assist in other day-to-day accounting functions as deemed necessary

    **QUALIFICATIONS:**

    Bachelors or equivalent degree from an accredited university in accounting, finance or related field of study

    Licensed or seeking certification as a Certified Public Accountant preferred

    2-3 years of related industry experience required

    Public Accounting experience preferred

    Solid understanding of US accounting standards and concepts

    Ability to work independently and effectively analyze and solve problems

    Advanced analytical and strong modeling skills in Excel

    Flexibility to perform effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment

    Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with emphasis on meeting deadlines

    A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
