    Development and Communications Manager


    Episcopal Homes Foundation is excited to be adding a Development and Communication Manager to our small and passionate team in St. Paul.

    Founded in 1894, Episcopal Homes enriches life and builds community with older adults and the staff and volunteers who serve them. Today, Episcopal Homes delivers housing, senior home care, hospice and wellbeing services to more than 1,400 older adults in St. Paul and the East Metro of the Twin Cities.     Reporting to the Foundation Executive Director, the Development and Communications Manager plays a key role in the critical fundraising systems and stewardship operations for development. This includes donor stewardship and outreach, maintaining donor data integrity, and communicating our mission through communications and storytelling. The Foundation values teamwork, gratitude, curiosity, and proactivity in key accountabilities.


    Pay and Schedule

    Starting from $64,000 - $74,000/year. Experience Compensated

    Flexible hours between core business hours.

    Hybrid remote scheduling is available with two to three days in the office.


    Primary Duties

    Database Management

    • Manage ongoing database accuracy and integrity with monthly database maintenance.
    • Serve as the organization's primary subject matter expert for donor information, segmenting, and reporting.
    • Support prospect development for major and mid-level gift fundraising and ensure a fully leveraged database to meet annual goals.
    • Translate data into knowledge and strategies for donor and prospect outreach.
    • Bring database expertise to capital campaigns to develop prospect lists and recommendations.

    Communications/Writing

    • Write outreach messaging utilizing Constant Contact for specific donor segmentations.
    • Respond to donor inquiries and phone calls as needed.
    • Contribute to newsletter story development including drafting stories and capturing photos for biannual newsletters and annual reports.
    • Assist in grant writing and editing.

    Development and Donor Stewardship

    • Contribute to development team in recognizing new donors and bringing ideas to the table on stewardship practices.
    • Produce and send acknowledgement letters to donors in a timely manner.

    Required Qualifications

    • A bachelor's degree and 2+ years in development, fundraising and communications.
    • Proficiency with Bloomerang or similar relational database system.
    • Superb skills in copywriting and creative storytelling to translate the Episcopal Homes mission with clarity and effectiveness.
    • Ability to collaborate respectfully with coworkers, teams, staff, and residents who are diverse with respect to race, age, ethnicity, gender identity, socio-economic status, and religion.
