    Default job background
    Description
    POSITION SUMMARY:

IPG's first and only consulting led business, Black Glass is an agile marketing consultancy, delivering practical, easy to implement strategic guidance that will have rapid, evident, effective and efficient impact on companies, their brands, and customers. Powered by the world's largest source of customer data, we turn consumer needs into commercial outcomes, through a process we call Radical ClarityTM that works at the speed of the consumer to increase growth, reduce costs, and actualize results.

Our process includes using data from IPG's data hub Acxiom and other sources and using financial modeling to develop frameworks with accuracy and practicality for every stage of goals and growth.

We are in search of a Director-level hire who can help us develop in two key areas:
    • Client Delivery: Drive new client projects forward through to completion, managing the development and delivery of the agreed deliverables such as frameworks, tools, diagnostics, insights summaries, and executive presentations. Own client scopes and project plans with high attention to detail.
    • Strategic Impact: Support creation of strategic IP and thought leadership. Have a strong POV and pulse on the market that allow you to bring strategic insights to your clients and CMOs.
    Your daily experience will include:
    • A small, supportive team tracking with you as you work on up to two projects at a time under the leadership of our Sr. Directors.
    • A minute-by-minute focus on what's important to global CMOs - you will work exclusively on their biggest challenges, both personal and professional.
    • An environment where an entrepreneur will thrive with lots of testing and learning, optimizing and pivoting in search of the best output / path forward.
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Delivery: Ability to produce a high-quality work product and collaborate with others to deliver a superior client experience related to marketing, org design, and business strategy.
    • Intuitive Business Knowledge: Ability to understand how business functions operate and how sector trends impact a client's business.
    • Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving: Ability to select appropriate methods for collecting and analyzing data and develop informed recommendations that shape or support the client's business strategy.
    • Financial Acumen: Ability to incorporate financial information when evaluating strategic options.
    • Client Presence: Ability to deliver key messages with clarity, confidence, and poise to instill confidence in clients, especially C-Suite executives.
    • Logic: Ability to organize insights and define a logical flow to tell a story when creating, refining, and presenting recommendations.
    • Marketing: We are focused entirely on the Marketing function, so practical experience is a must-have.
    • Technology: You'll need to be a pro at GSuite, HubSpot, Typeform, and Slack. Experience with no-code tools for automation, like Zapier, is a huge plus.
    EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
    • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in at an agency, Fortune 500 company, or consultancy, especially within the travel or financial services industry.
    • Strong relationship building, collaboration and partnering skills
    • Ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions
    • Experience leading effective collaboration across a team of project managers focusing on different functional areas for the same project
    • Ability to work independently and multi-task
    • Ability to prioritize work, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
    • Strong time management skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
    • BA/BS experience preferred
