Nurse Practitioner Peds ICU and Transitional CareFull Time
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the safe delivery of care in collaboration with attending physicians, fellows and residents.
This team member will meet productivity expectations as set forth by the Division Chief, performing any duties related to patient care activities that are appropriate and clearly delineated.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU ) at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital provides extraordinary high-level care for children who require continuous monitoring.
The unit has 20 beds for infants and children suffering from a variety of conditions or recovering from surgery.More than 1,000 children per year are admitted into the intensive care units at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital arriving via ambulance, helicopter and airplane from throughout the western United States.
The Pediatric Transitional Care Unit (TCUP) is a 16-bed unit for infants and children suffering from a variety of conditions or recovering from surgery.
The TCU provides care to patients with a moderate to high complexity of disease such as those recovering from solid organ transplantation, requiring non-invasive mechanical ventilation including BIPAP, CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, titration of anticoagulant therapy, and post-operative specialty surgery care (ENT, neurosurgery).
Minimum two (2) years of recent experience working as an RN in a Pediatric ICUMaster's Degree in Nursing with an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialization
Minimum two (2) years of recent experience working as an NP in a Pediatric ICU
Master's Degree in Nursing with an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialization
Minimum 3 years of experience working as an AC-PNP in a level III Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
California Driver's license (CDL) if required for position
Must have completed a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a Nurse Practitioner.
It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer)
Must have submitted enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed.
In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day.
Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
