    Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Per Diem

    Per Diem


    The Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco are hiring Nurse Practitioners for the Jail Behavioral Health Service (JBHS).

    For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

    JBHS is committed to providing outstanding care to our incarcerated population, and includes clinicians with experience and expertise working with patients of diverse cultures and experiences.

    Led by Medical Director Loren Roth, MD, JBHS is two UCSF Attending Psychiatrists, with San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) Medical, Nursing, and BHS staff contributing to a high quality collaborative multidisciplinary team.

    Ability to work with patients and program staff from diverse cultural and social class backgrounds
    DNSc - Doctor of Nursing Science.
    Ability to qualify as UCSF Health trusted interpreter in Spanish.
    Experience using EPIC/AVATAR.
    Cantonese/Mandarin speaking ability.

    California driver's license (CDL) if required for position.
    Complete a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner.
    It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer).
    Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed.

    In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day.

    Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
