    Description

    Role: Staff Accountant (Contract to hire)

    Hiring Type: Contract to hire

    Location: Washington D.C

    Office Schedule: in office 1x a week starting

    Pay: 25-35 hr

    Salary: 65-74k

    Our client, a prestigious International Development firm is seeking to add Staff Accountant on a temporary-permanent basis- individuals must have experience with government circular CFR 200 (OMB A-110, A-122 and A-133).

    Requirements

    • in Accounting or business related degree
    • years of reconciliation experience
    • Knowledge of applicable federal government circulars 2 CFR 200 (OMB A-110, A-122 and A-133)

    Responsibilities

    • Accounts Payable + Accounts Receivable + travel and expense reporting and reconciliations (travel, expense reports, and credit card reconciliations Review and process transactions and request additional support where required in accordance with policies and flagging transactions that don't meet requirements.
    • Review verify and audit of expenses, to ensure they align with company policies, procedure and funders requirements.
    • Reviews and processes expense submissions/reconciliations, and payments for the assigned portfolio.
    • Ensure alignment of each grant's objectives and compliance with funder regulations, IRI policies.
    • Prepares all financial reports required by funders and/or management.
    • Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of funder's and financial policies and procedures and serving as a resource for program teams.
    • Provides training on financial policies and procedures to program teams in respective portfolios.
    • Establishes, maintains, and develops productive working relationship with expatriate staff, local/field/project accountants, DC program and Program Services colleagues.
    • Troubleshoots accounting problems; identifies and implements creative solutions.
    • Assists with annual, funders' and program audit preparation.
    • Works on accounts reconciliations.
    • Performs other accounting tasks as assigned or deemed necessary.
