    SPECIAL NOTES:
    A high school diploma or its equivalent isrequired.


    Additional requirement:
    At least (1) one year of clerical experience.


    Preferences:
    Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    Able to assist and take direction from multiple people.

    Six (6) months in a position requiring the processing of medical payments or knowledge of medical terms.

    Six (6) months in a position that requires answering phone calls and providing information to callers.

    Six (6) months experience in working with workers' compensation claims in any capacity.

    This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

    The salary for this position if $35,000.00.

    Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.


    Responses to qualifying questions must be clearly supported by the state application and any omission, falsification, or misrepresentation in the answering of the qualifying questions will be cause for immediate elimination from the selection process.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    Knowledge of the principles and techniques of records management.

    Knowledge of administrative principles and practices.

    Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.

    Knowledge of problem-solving techniques.

    Ability to make decisions in a timely manner.

    Ability to direct the organization and maintenance of records.

    Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

    Ability to determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure proper completion of work assignments.

    Ability to communicate effectively.

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.


    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
    Answers telephone and directs callers to appropriate party. Responds to telephone inquiries on the status of bill payments.

    Establishes and maintains an indexing system for all workers' compensation records.

    Reviews mileage reimbursement requests, attorney bills, attendant care invoices, rehabilitation bills, and processes payments for other ancillary services.

    Processes routine correspondence including but not limited to letters of maximum medical improvement and initial contact letters.

    Works to integrate computer records into electronic record retention.

    Transfers electronic files to CD's.

    Assists workers' compensation specialists in confirming data identification information for claimants.

    Completes ISO searches as requested by specialist.

    Performs related work as required.
