    Description

    Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Tool Grinder to join our manufacturing team. The Tool Grinder will be responsible for operating precision grinding machines to sharpen and maintain cutting tools, dies, and other precision components used in the production process.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Set up and operate manual and CNC grinding machines to sharpen and recondition cutting tools, including drills, end mills, reamers, and inserts.
    • Interpret engineering drawings, tooling specifications, and work instructions to determine grinding parameters and tolerances.
    • Perform precision grinding operations to achieve tight tolerances and surface finish requirements.
    • Inspect tools and components using precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators to ensure conformance to specifications.
    • Troubleshoot grinding issues and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and productivity.
    • Maintain grinding equipment by performing routine maintenance tasks and replacing worn or damaged components.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area in the grinding department.
    Qualifications:
    • Proficiency in operating manual and CNC grinding machines.
    • Strong knowledge of grinding principles, tool geometry, and cutting tool materials.
    • Experience with precision measurement instruments and inspection techniques.
    • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with tight tolerances.
    • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining preferred.
