Maintenance Apprentice
Manor Tool & Manufacturing Company began as a tool and die shop in 1959 and has grown to become a first-class metal stamping company, specializing in punching, bending, forming and deep drawn stampings.
Responsibilities:
- Participates in the safety, quality and housekeeping programs as established within the plant.
- Maintain performance standards, quality standards, good attendance record and attitude.
- Performs cleanup duties at workstations, etc.
- Communicate all problems and other workrelated issues with supervisor.
- Demonstrates flexibility to changing priorities as business needs dictate.
- Acts decisively and shows a strong sense of urgency to ensure follow through of established goals.
- Identifies and participates proactively in activities to increase personal skill level, overall departmental process, and product quality.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including mission, safety, and attendance requirements.
- Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of this position, as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic computer proficiency required.
- Operation of machine tools such as drill presses, mills, grinders, lathes, and various powered hand tools
- Ability to pass company ISO, English, Safety and Math tests.
- Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US.
- Must be drug and alcoholfree.
Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities
- Must read, write, and speak English.
- Must understand verbal and written instructions.
- Must possess strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Must be selfmotivated to work independently and in a group and meet targets.
- Must perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Must have basic knowledge of punch presses, construction, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Must read and understand schematics.
- Must be able to think and work under pressure and analyze information to identify solutions.
- Must have and execute with sense of urgency.
- MiG/Tig welding a plus
Minimum Physical Requirements
- Stamina to work all assigned hours.
- 20/20 vision required with or without correction.
- Ability to use hands 100% of the workday.
- Ability to stand and or walk 100% of the workday.
- Ability to bend, stoop or twist 50% of the workday.
- Ability to exert physical force to push, pull, lift or carry 50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to work in a shop environment continuous exposure to potentially hazardous metal working machinery and equipment, loud noises, dust, mist, oils and solvents.
