    Description

    EA DC is looking for a full-time Community Engagement Coordinator or Head of Community who would work closely with and report to the Executive Director.

    The successful applicant will be replacing EA DCs current Managing Director.

    Work hours are generally flexible, but evening and weekend work will be required for certain activities (e.g. running events). The work is otherwise remote as EA DC does not currently have an office. You will need to travel within the DMV, and occasionally, internationally.

    As outlined above, there are many different types of successful candidates as there are many aspects of community building.

    Providing 1-on-1 advising on careers and academics, facilitating connections with others where relevant.
    Supporting candidates in identifying and securing opportunities (funding, internships, fellowships, jobs, scholarships, etc.).

    Running Local & Online Events
    Preparing and running events by building on existing material and developing new concepts.
    Community-wide networking

    ~ Operations and Administrative Oversight
    ~ Community Health and Safety

    ~ Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a safe, welcoming, and healthy community environment in line with our Code of Conduct.
    ~ Monitor and respond to community feedback to enhance overall satisfaction and inclusivity.
    ~ Project Management

    ~ Identify, track, and evaluate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for your programs.
    ~ Manage the administrative aspects of your projects and maintain compliance with governance and financial obligations.
    ~ Strategic Planning and Fundraising
    Contribute to the annual strategic planning and fundraising processes, ensuring alignment with our mission and operational capabilities.
    Ensure all performance metrics are tracked and translated into compelling fundraising campaigns.
    Regularly review and adapt strategies to meet evolving community needs and organizational goals.

    Online Infrastructure
    ~ Online Infrastructure

    ~ Expand existing community-facing resources (community and talent directories, Forum and website posts, etc.).
    ~ Managing and expanding our existing CRM (Airtable).
    ~ Marketing and Communications

    ~ Implement growth strategies for digital platforms to increase engagement and followers, aligning content with our mission of career support and community growth.
    ~ Oversee all non-newsletter communications across multiple platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, and our website.

    Ability to strategize, implement, and evaluate community initiatives effectively.
    Experience with the end-to-end planning, execution, and evaluation of events.
    Understanding and ability to communicate the ideas of effective altruism or aligned fields/movements.
    Work independently in a results-oriented and structured way.
    A strong understanding of the relevant considerations determining the value of EA community building.
    EA community building experience.
    Experience in public speaking, social media, and/or writing articles.
    Experience or demonstrated familiarity with US and/or international policymaking.
