About the position
This is a locally engaged staff position at an overseas Australian Diplomatic Mission.


Under the direction of the Strategic Communications Branch Head and working closely with the Director, Strategic Communications, the position is responsible for the Australian Embassy's online presence and engagement strategy.

The position is responsible for a range of functions, including: developing and monitoring performance of the embassy's digital strategy, developing online content (including videos), managing online platforms (embassy website, Facebook page, Twitter feed, LinkedIn profile, Instagram account, etc.), monitoring, analysing and reporting on current/emerging platforms (web/social analytics reports, advice on new/emerging platforms, etc.), and monitoring the impact of digital communications.

The incumbent will serve as a resource on best practices for other US-based Posts and will support digital strategy for high-level official visits.

The position also oversees proper and consistent use of correct branding across digital platforms.
The position will require some after hours and weekend work, participation at key events and during high-level visits.
