- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA and/or master's degree in Accounting preferred
- 4+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in public accounting and/or consolidated investment reporting
- Capability to lead, mentor, develop, and manage the performance of team members
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), consolidated investment reporting, and internal controls
- Experience in alternative investment accounting and reporting of partnership structured funds is a bonus
- Experience in various investment types such as money market funds, debt and equity securities, mutual funds, digital assets, private equity securities, real estate, equity method investments, private investment funds, and derivatives
- Knowledge of financial systems and multi-dimensional reporting tools (e.g., Oracle, InvestOne, Workiva, Power BI, Tableau, Essbase)
- Proven ability to design and implement accounting processes and their impact on financial systems
- Highly motivated team player with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Attention to detail while maintaining a broad perspective on business objectives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to build strong relationships with business partners

The Role
You will ensure the accurate recording of investments for FMR LLC and its subsidiaries in the general ledger, and their precise presentation for financial reporting. Additionally, your responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining controls over the investment process. Serving as the primary point of contact for investment-related inquiries and analysis, you will gain exposure to a wide range of investment topics, including emerging areas. This is a highly visible position that will give you the opportunity to interact with business unit accountants, senior management, and both internal and external auditors. Collaborating closely with members of the Corporate Accounting team, finance, tax, and treasury departments, you will work on enhancing and modernizing the current investment process in collaboration with the treasury and technology teams.

The Team
As a member of the FMR LLC Accounting team, you will have exposure to a diverse range of accounting topics that directly influence the annual and semi-annual financial statements of FMR LLC. Your role will involve ensuring the accuracy of FMR's investments in the general ledger and financial statements. Working closely with various teams in Corporate Accounting, Treasury, Finance, Fund Accounting, and Tax, you will play a significant role in shaping the future direction of the investment accounting process at the Company as the mix of investment products evolves.
