    Position Overview:
    Edgesource is actively hiring a Jr. Business Development Analyst to work onsite at our corporate offices in Alexandria, VA, 3 days per week.

    The person in this position will play a pivotal role in identifying, researching, and pursuing federal business opportunities within the federal defense, homeland security, scientific and technology sectors.

    You will collaborate closely with business unit leaders, leverage tools like GovWin, and conduct competitor and partner research to drive the expansion of our federal contracting business.

    This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for business development in the federal contracting sector.


    Job Duties:
    Conduct indepth research on federal government contracting opportunities, including requests for proposals (RFPs), and requests for information (RFIs) within the scientific and technology domains. Use GovWin, GSA eBuy, , and other industryspecific databases to identify potential opportunities. Stay abreast of government procurement trends, policies, and regulations relevant to our industry. Manage and maintain a pipeline of federal opportunities, ensuring timely responses to deadlines and submissions. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gather the necessary information for proposal development. Assist in the preparation and submission of proposals, including compliance checks and document management.

    Conduct competitive analysis to identify key players in the federal contracting space within the defense, homeland security, scientific, and technology sectors.

    Analyze competitor strengths and weaknesses to develop strategies for securing contracts. Research potential strategic partners, subcontractors, and teaming opportunities to enhance our competitiveness. Develop and nurture relationships with potential partners within our industry. Work closely with business unit leaders to understand their strategic objectives. Collaborate with business units to align business development efforts with the organization's overarching goals. Identify new market segments and business opportunities compatible with company strategy and vision. Maintain accurate and uptodate records of federal opportunities, proposals, and market research. Generate reports and provide insights to senior management regarding business development efforts and outcomes.


    Required Qualifications:
    Ability to be onsite in Alexandria, VA, 3 days per week US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US Government security clearance Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 0
    2 years of related work experience Comfortable with basic scientific and Information Technology topics and terminology Strong business English writing ability Strong analytical, research, and data analysis skills Strong communication skills and strong desire to meet new potential clients and teaming partners in person at events and presentations as well as via email and social media Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Desired Qualifications (NOT REQUIRED): Previous experience in federal business development or related roles within the scientific or technology sectors Familiarity with general topics in defense and homeland security Familiarity with federal procurement regulations and procedures Proficiency in using federal market intelligence tools.
