    An organization within Northrop Grumman's Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division, Mission Enabling Products (MEP) is a leading designer, producer, and supplier of spacecraft components that power and enable satellites of all classes.

    Northrop Grumman's Mission Enabling Products, Deployables team has an opening for a Quality Inspection Manager 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Quality organization.

    The Quality Inspection Manager will support the quality initiatives for solar arrays and deployables manufacturing. This position will have day-to-day responsibilities managing Quality Inspectors located in our Goleta facility. This position will be based in Goleta, CA.

    Core Responsibilities:
    Provides overall management of Quality Control (QC) inspection teams by setting and operating to objectivesProvides guidance to direct reports based on goals, objectives, and company policyEngages on the manufacturing floor and in work activities to provide direct support as needed while additionally coaching and mentoring personnel in quality methods and proceduresMaintains compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the performance and quality of products conform to established standards, specifications, and customer requirementsProvide performance reviews and periodic feedback for all direct reportsAssist in meeting or exceeding the Safety, Quality, Employee, Delivery and Cost expectations for internal and external customers and within the Quality function

    Basic Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree with 5 years of applicable experience as a quality inspection lead; OR 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; OR 0 years of relevant experience with a PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degreeExperience managing peopleExperience with Quality Management Systems (AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP and government standards) and CertificationsKnowledge of mechanical and non-destructive inspection techniquesStrong passion and relentless drive for achieving results in a fast-paced aerospace engineering and manufacturing environmentExcellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skillsStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to travel to our Oxnard, CA site on occasionUS Citizenship is a bona fide requirement

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Knowledge of space deployable mechanism technology and advanced manufacturing processesExperience with Supplier Quality and Performance ManagementWorkforce planning and budgeting experienceKnowledge of engineering GD&T principles


    Salary Range:
    $95, $142,600.00


    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

    In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
