Job Summary


As the Director of Security, you will be responsible for the planning, developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive security strategies to safeguard our employees, the club's assets and property, members and their guests, and the community behind the gates.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders to identify security risks and formulate proactive measures to mitigate potential threats.

Additionally, you will oversee a team of hospitality-minded security professionals and coordinate with external partners to ensure the effectiveness of our security protocols.


Education and/or Experience

  • Proven experience in security leadership roles, with a minimum of five (5) years in a managerial capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management or related field preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge of security principles, strategies, practices, and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking and problem solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security risks and develop effective strategies.
  • Excellent communication and impersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of current and new security initiatives, practices, and technology.

Job Tasks/Duties

  • Acts as the Safety Officer including maintaining the IIPP, HIPP and COVID plans; collaborates with human resources on the WPVPP.
  • Supervises, hires, trains, schedules, and holds security personnel accountable.
  • Manages and maintains records of all open construction projects.
  • Attends Architecture and Landscaping (A&L) committee meetings to report on open construction projects and security initiatives.
  • Responsible for all access points including creek entry.
  • Oversees and manages road improvement projects.
  • Continually inspects perimeter fencing and proactively addresses any maintenance and/or needs (including barbwire, unnecessary vines, shrubs, trees, etc.)
  • Utilizes and improves upon the Dwelling Live System, including transponder system.
  • Utilizes and improves upon the access data list, holds security personnel accountable to this process.
  • Works with General Manager to review and implement recommendations from Security Consultant.
  • Establish and implement security and emergency procedures.
  • Coordinates security surveillance of premises.
  • Establishes and enforces security procedures for protection of members, guests, and employees and their property; recommends additional controls and procedural changes to other departments that will provide increased protection.
  • Exercises general supervision over parking lot operation by providing systematic patrols to assure protection of vehicles and property, controls access to parking lots and institutes traffic and parking procedures.
  • Strictly enforces no speeding and reckless driving on club grounds.
  • Directs the training of all security personnel in first aid, fire protection, traffic control, emergency, and all other security procedures.
  • Ensures that adequate security staff is on duty as needed.
  • Directs the investigation of alleged crimes committed on club premises; cooperates with law enforcement agencies in the investigation of crimes including the exchange of reports and information and by appearance in courts of law.
  • Collaborates with the human resources department regarding the preparation of reports related to accidents, insurance, and employee processing.
  • Conducts confidential or special investigations as requested by the General Manager.
  • Coordinates removal of unauthorized vehicles from the club's property by towing company.
  • Develops budget for department; monitors financial information and takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that budget goals are met.
  • Completes written reports of all complaints and violations.
  • Attends management meetings and training sessions; conducts quarterly staff meetings.
  • Reports maintenance, lighting, plumbing and electrical problems immediately.
  • Patrols the clubhouse, adjacent buildings and tours the club grounds periodically during work shifts.
  • Conducts routine safety inspections on a random and recurring basis.
  • Maintains positive and professional relationship with the local police, fire and emergency response providers and departments.

Licenses and Special Requirements

  • ASIS membership required.
  • CPP or PSP certification required.
  • CPR/AED certification required.
