    Job Title: Human Resources Manager

    Department: Human Resources

    Reports to: Senior Director of People & Culture

    Salary Grade/Level/Family/Range: $75,000

    FLSA Classification: Exempt

    This position has potential for upward mobility.

    This position is in-office with one designated work from home day per week.

    Position Overview: The Human Resources Manager plays a vital role in supporting the organization's mission by overseeing all aspects of human resources management. This position reports to the Sr. Director of People and Culture and is responsible for ensuring compliance with labor laws, fostering a positive work environment, and supporting the well-being of employees within a unionized setting. This individual will be the primary point of contact regarding employee relations within a unionized setting and providing support and guidance to leadership during investigations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Employee Relations:

    1. Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances.
    2. Mediate conflicts and facilitate resolutions between management and union representatives.
    3. Ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreement and labor laws.
    4. Provide support and/or lead investigatory meetings with staff members to satisfy any grievances received from union members.
    5. Serve as a resident expert in the collective bargaining agreement and field questions from all staff and leadership.

    Recruitment and Onboarding:

    1. Provide supervision and leadership to the recruitment specialist to develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract diverse talent.
    2. Provide oversight for the overall hiring process, including job postings, screening applicants, and conducting interviews.
    3. Ensure employee data is being entered accurately into ADP and other systems.

    Performance Management:

    1. Provide supervision and leadership to Benefits & Wellness Specialist to implement performance management systems to evaluate employee performance fairly and consistently.
    2. Provide guidance and support to supervisors on performance reviews, goal-setting, and disciplinary actions.
    3. Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee performance and professional development.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    1. Provide leadership and oversight to Benefits & Wellness Specialist to administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
    2. Collaborate with Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing accurately and efficiently.
    3. Respond to unemployment claims within various online platforms in a timely manner.

    Policy Development and Compliance:

    1. Consult with Sr. Director of People & Culture to develop, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
