    Description

    Intrinsic Edge Capital Management LLC ("IECM") is a fundamental, catalyst driven investment firm with over 20 years of experience focusing on small and mid-capitalization US equity securities. IECM has an opening in its downtown Chicago office for a Director of Finance and Operations, who will manage & lead day-to-day activity within the finance and operations functions. This role will report to the COO of IECM.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with CIO & COO to determine and implement business strategy, new initiatives, organizational priorities and special projects
    • Responsible for day-to-day firm middle office operations, including:

    All functions, systems and reporting

    Reviewing positions daily, including the review & reconciliation of daily profit and loss, exposures and breaks

    Trade volume capture and tracking fees/ commissions paid to brokers and financing counterparts

    Working with trade desk to ensure smooth execution and settlement process

    • Oversee key 3rd party service provider & vendor relationships (with certain exceptions like audit and compliance vendors, who will be overseen by the Controller and CCO)
    • Manage and refine treasury, portfolio finance and cash management function; unencumbered equity and collateral management – manage all cash infrastructure for funds and management company
    • Manage and grow/ add relationships with Prime Brokers, Custodians, Investment Banks & other street counterparts as strategies and AUM evolve
    • Take a leadership role in management company operations, including participation in appropriate management company oversight committees
    • Responsible for preparation and maintenance of Operational Due Diligence packet for investors
    • Aggregate data for use in periodic regulatory filings, working alongside CCO
    • Jointly with CCO, investigate, secure and maintain requisite insurance policies – D&O/ E&O, Fidelity Bond, etc – manage relationships with Insurance brokers
    • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly marketing materials for IECM funds
    • With Controller's group, participate in the review of the monthly financial statements and tax return preparation processes
    • Provide any other support to Controller's group and Chief Operating Officer, as necessary

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree required; CPA/ CFA preferred
    • 12+ years of relevant financial services industry experience, hedge fund experience preferred
    • Strong accounting skills & experience a plus and will serve to differentiate candidates
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Personable, values accuracy, organized, and displays ethical behavior
