    The USC Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute and Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (INI, ) are world leaders in the development of advanced computational and scientific approaches for the comprehensive mapping of brain structure and function.

    LONI's unique multidisciplinary environment and cutting-edge resources allow for integration of clinical, psychological and genotypic information with neuroimaging phenotypes for research questions in neurology, psychiatry and developmental neurobiology.

    The INI applies innovative imaging and information technologies to the study of the brain.

    We collect and analyze imaging, genetics, clinical, and behavioral data to better understand the brain's role in human health, disease, and changes across the lifespan.

    Our interdisciplinary team investigates brain structure, function, and disease, using techniques such as mathematics, genomic analysis, and ultra-high-field MRI scanning.

    Directed by Provost Professor Arthur W.

    Toga, the institute is housed within the Stevens Hall of Neuroimaging, a dedicated, custom-built facility at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.

    The Executive Assistant is responsible for implementing the directives of the Institute's Director.

    The ideal candidate will administer operations of the Institute's Director on a daily basis and has an excellent track record of supervising administrative operations of a multi-faceted department.

    This position requires strong organizational skills to address, prioritize and coordinate multiple problems and activities concurrently.

    The position is based out of USC Stevens Hall of Neuroimaging in Los Angeles and will report to the Director of the Institute.

    Accountabilities


    • Administers operations of Director of Institute such as supervising staff, managing electronic information systems, authorizing acquisitions, maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities, ensuring department's conformity to university policies and procedures, resolving complex departmental problems.
    • Maintains accurate, secure and confidential faculty and/or staff records, administers faculty benefits programs (including sabbatical leaves) as appropriate, reviews all proposed departmental staff changes and recommend approval/denial, faculty and/or staff recruitment, staff development and career succession planning.
    • Establishes and maintains contact with faculty and/or staff members reporting to the Institute's Director, monitors progress of department programs and projects, and apprises supervisor of progress toward and attainment of department goals.
    • Manages special department projects and assists in formation of ad hoc committees and monitors progress toward completion of assigned tasks.
    • Participates in department planning and implementation processes. May include budget, contingency, disaster, growth, policy, program/project, space, staff and/or strategic planning.
    • Develops and maintains effective communications program within department.
    • Assists in development, preparation and delivery of reports, publications, speeches, presentations, official correspondence, etc.
    • Assists the Director of the Institute with all day-to-day tasks, including updating CV, travel arrangements and reimbursement, scheduling meetings and maintaining calendar.
    • Greets donors and visitors and escorts to Institute Director's office.
    • Handles ad hoc administrative projects and assignments to support the functioning of the Institute Directors office.
    Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree or at least 5 years of directly-related experience
    • Knowledge and ability to understand, interpret, and communicate University policies and procedures
    • Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
    • Analytical skills
    • Outstanding organizational, communication, and relationship building skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance competing priorities
    • Ability to critically assess challenges and identify effective solutions


    The annual base salary range for this position is $83, $90, When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.


    Minimum Education:
    Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
    Minimum Experience: 5 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Experience in supervising administrative operations of multi-faceted department.
