Created in 1993, LAHSA is a joint powers authority of the city and county of Los Angeles.

As the lead agency in the HUD-funded Los Angeles Continuum of Care, we coordinate and manage over $800 million annually in federal, state, county, and city funds for programs providing shelter, housing, and services to people experiencing homelessness.


Under the direction of Executive Management, the Executive Assistant is responsible for assisting their assigned Executives and the Executive Support Services Unit in the smooth operations of the Executive Department by providing excellent administrative support to the CEO, C-Suite Executives, LAHSA Commission and Committees, and other special projects and requests as required.

Key responsibilities include scheduling for assigned executives, coordinating internal and external meetings, preparing and editing correspondence, managing the executive office files and retrieval system, and working directly with the executive and senior leadership team to follow up and track project progress.

The Executive Assistant is responsible for effectively managing the calendar of assigned Executives, processing all correspondence to or from the Executives as well as opening and prioritizing all incoming information.

They will also maintain records of all documentation, file materials, manage data entry and manage databases and other relevant data information related to the activities of LAHSA Executives.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Provides confidential administrative support to LAHSA Executives
  • Calendars, tracks and coordinates meetings and manages Executive schedules
  • Maintains Executive records and files
  • Prepares correspondence and meeting agendas
  • Organizes meetings and helps with conferences
  • Coordinates weekly management meeting, and individual meetings with Directors and Managers
  • Assists Executives' in maintaining regular communications with Commissioners
  • Records and transcribes minutes for meetings, as requested
  • Prepares meeting room, audio/visual equipment and materials
  • Arranges business travel and prepares expense reports
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by the Executive Department

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Advanced abilities with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and other computer systems.
  • Excellent organization, analytical written and oral communication skills
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fastpaced environment, while exercising sound judgment.
  • A critical thinker, with a high level of initiation, motivation and enthusiasm.
  • Must be a confident selfstarter who can develop effective business relationships, both internally & externally.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
  • Provide confidential administrative support to assigned Executives.

Training & Experience:


  • Proven professional experience and educational background.
